The Cyrene Cosplay Convention photos from the Zhongshan AS Comic Convention are finally organized and ready! Truth be told, preparation time was incredibly tight from the moment the costume was decided until the day of the convention. To bring my absolute best form to the event, I spent almost the entire previous night organizing accessories and trimming the wig. Cyrene's short pink hair is quite tricky to cut properly; the slightest lapse in precision can easily leave it looking heavy or plastered flat against the scalp. I worked through generous amounts of styling wax and setting spray, piecing out layered definition section by section, and readjusted the curvature at the back of the head multiple times before feeling satisfied.

The outfit details are remarkably intricate. The pieced navy and purple coat features numerous layers, with golden patterns printed on the cuffs. When selecting fabrics, I purposefully sought out materials with a subtle shimmer so they would produce a gorgeous luster as I turned under the convention hall lights. The belt serves as the visual anchor of the entire ensemble, weighted with rich golden metal accents and blue gems; to keep it securely in place, I reinforced the interior with clear shoulder straps to prevent it from sagging while walking. The sapphire necklace at the neck and the white hair ornament atop the head are equally vital finishing touches. The inner white dress features subtle swirling patterns embroidered across the chest, and the hemline is cleanly bound with fine piping.

For the makeup, since the character possesses clear blue eyes, I opted for cool-toned blue colored contacts. The eye makeup was kept from becoming overly heavy, relying primarily on soft layers of pale pink and light brown smudging to accentuate the eye contours, paired with natural falsies to enlarge the gaze. Blush was swept higher across the tops of the cheek apples, and the lip color was chosen in a dewy, soft pink gloss. The entire look was kept clean and luminous to avoid clashing with the bright pink hair.

The convention day itself was thoroughly exhausting. Strappy high heels look stunning in photos and elongate the leg lines, but walking in them across the hall is undeniably grueling. I applied anti-chafing blister patches to my heels and sides of my toes beforehand, and carried a pair of flats in my bag to slip into while browsing the booths. Inside the venue, I encountered many photographers carrying serious gear, and everyone politely asked for permission before shooting. To swiftly get into character amid the bustling crowd, I usually located a quieter corner to ground myself in her persona first. The gaze needs to soften, movements must remain light and graceful, and hand gestures require delicate care—such as gently easing tension in the wrists when touching the neck or resting a cheek on a palm.

Later, we transitioned to a dedicated studio set. The staging there was breathtaking: translucent purple drapes cascaded from high ceilings, paired with white Roman pillars, vintage frames, and draped pearl strands, seamlessly echoing that mysterious, dreamlike atmosphere. I also incorporated a vintage wooden table clock and a few prop letters to deepen the narrative feel. To achieve a bright yet soft ambiance, the photographer tuned the angles of the key and side-back lights, casting natural transitions across my face and the costume fabrics.

Throughout the entire Anime cosplay process, the most enjoyable aspect was collaborating with the makeup artist, wig stylist, and logistics crew on site. Even though constantly smoothing the train, touching up makeup, and tweaking accessories felt tedious, seeing everyone nod with satisfaction at the preview monitor made every bit of effort worth it. Whether in costume accuracy, makeup harmony, or set design, we gave our absolute best for this shoot. I hope every cosplay endeavor marks a step forward, and I am deeply grateful to all the friends who helped photograph me and arrange my outfit at the convention.
