Today's shooting of this set of Hsin photos from Wuthering Waves was a completely new experience for me throughout the whole process. The design of this outfit is extremely eye-catching, featuring a large area of red as the main tone, paired with black and gold accents, creating a strong visual impact. To present the best effect, I put a lot of thought into selecting the clothing materials. For the outer layer of red gauze, I chose a fabric with subtle glitter and good light transmission, so that under the lighting, it can present a lightweight and layered texture; when walking or lying down, the fabric's reflection looks gorgeous. The golden piping along the edges of the clothes and the spliced parts with black base and gold patterns were also checked repeatedly for details to ensure that wearing it not only has a layered stacking feel but also avoids looking bloated.
In the makeup and styling part, since Hsin features a white hair styling, wig maintenance became crucial. I trimmed and styled the wig to make the hair strands fit the face shape better while retaining the natural curve of the hair ends, so that whether facing forward or sideways, the direction of the hair strands could cooperate with the lens. To create that ethereal celestial vibe, the wig's glossiness was also treated to avoid looking too fake and shiny. In terms of makeup, I slightly deepened the eye contours, using warm-toned eyeshadows to echo the overall gold-red tone, with the eyeliner slightly upturned to add a touch of liveliness, and chose a higher-saturation red for the lips to brighten the complexion. Accessories are also a highlight of this styling: golden chokers, bracelets, and especially the golden streamlined thigh ring on the thigh create a contrast between the metallic texture and skin tone, adding a lot of points to the overall styling in terms of details. These metal accessories actually have some weight, so their positions needed to be adjusted during wearing to prevent them from slipping off during the shoot.
For the shooting scene, we chose a white plush blanket as the base, paired with the wooden screen in the back and light yellow scroll-screen props, trying to create an atmosphere intertwining classicism and fantasy. Because the overall style leans towards being soft and beautiful, we used a lot of soft lighting in our lighting setup, and even created some halo effects at the edges of the lens, making the image look like it carries a dreamy hazy feeling. The light hitting the white fur and red gauze brought out the layering instantly. I lay on my side on the blanket, hands crossed in front of me, eyes half-closed, trying to express a lazy and quiet state. This posture looks relaxed, but in order to maintain the smoothness of the shoulder-neck line and the natural posture of the arms, the core needs to stay clenched the whole time, and the eyes also need to find that slightly exerted yet not tense state—it's quite a test of physical strength. The photographer was also constantly helping me adjust angles to find the best placement for facial light and shadow.
In terms of post-processing, it mainly reinforced the warm-yellow light and shadow atmosphere, making the red and gold stand out more, while preserving the fluffy feel of the plush material and the texture of the background wood grain. This set of photos showcases my understanding of the character Hsin, and I hope to convey this tranquility and gentleness to everyone, and I also hope everyone enjoys this style of presentation.
