[Evelyn cosplay] Zenless Zone Zero Fes red and black Leather jacket cosplay convention photos

Preparing this Evelyn cosplay took over half a month from material sourcing to final images. The costume features countless intricate details: the white collared shirt underneath was tailored with a tapered waist, while the outer black leather harness and trousers were custom patterned by a tailor. To recreate that crisp, structured texture with a subtle sheen, we tested several leather thicknesses—too soft and it lacked structure, too stiff and movement was impossible. The shoulder capelet features a dark red lining that flutters gracefully in motion, and the gold trim along the edges was hand-applied.

For the wig, I used a golden-toned styled piece with braided crown detailing, trimming the side-swept bangs multiple times to ensure they contoured the face cleanly. To capture that piercing, chilly gaze, makeup heavily emphasized eye contours, paired with blue contact lenses and reddish-brown lipstick, finished with a black neck choker and long dangling earrings. The black leather gloves featured red spliced accents, and the yellow wristband from the event organizers remained on my left wrist as an authentic trace of the convention floor.

Huge credit goes to photographer Zhenyu this time for exceptional mastery over light and shadow. The red brick wall and retro television backdrop carried an inherent industrial vibe, where we used side-backlighting to illuminate the metallic buckles and zippers across the garment. Posing required keeping a detached, calm gaze without exaggerated expressions, pairing subtle hand placements to project her languid yet dangerously alluring aura. We spent substantial time fine-tuning seated and standing poses, as the creases on leather pants require precise lighting angles to yield clean, attractive reflections.

In reality, the convention hall was quite warm and stuffy; wearing non-breathable leather had me sweating in no time. Yet to guarantee peak photo quality, I stayed disciplined through every pose. These two shots are my favorites—one draws in close to highlight facial expressions and upper-body harness details, while the other steps back into a wider frame to document the full set arrangement. Slipping in and out of leather is exhausting, but achieving satisfying results made every bit worth it. I will gradually sort through the remaining photos and continue exploring other distinct characters from this universe.
