[Tamamo no Mae cosplay] Fox Spirit Charm in Fate: Convention Photos Showcase

These convention photos were shot on August 3rd at the New Lotus Anime Convention with photographer Dongyuan, featuring Tamamo no Mae from Fate/Grand Order. Because the venue lighting was rather cluttered, Dongyuan adjusted the side-backlighting to cleanly trace the silhouettes of the pink wig and plush animal ears, giving them a radiant, translucent glow.

The outfit is a form-fitting mini skirt spliced in black and gray, adorned with gold straps and metallic ring accents that flatter the waistline. The most voluminous feature is the wide ruffled sleeves with sheer tulle lining that breathes gracefully with every gentle draft. Paired with black pantyhose and chunky platform high heels featuring metal buckles, it visually elongated my leg proportions, drawing plenty of attention at the venue from attendees who loved this detail-rich styling.

During the shoot, Dongyuan and I spent some time finding our rhythm. For the pose in photo one—sitting on the floor with one leg extended—the massive golden-brown fox tail prop took up quite a bit of space, requiring several adjustments to balance my center of gravity. Holding a finger to my lips while locking my gaze onto the lens brought out the character's playful, tsundere charm. Photo two features a kneeling pose making V-signs with both hands for a lively vibe. The side-seated and standing poses in photos three and four primarily showcased the skirt's slit and sleek lines of the black stockings, with cool white lighting rendering smooth skin textures. Thanks to the shallow depth of field, background light stands and passersby were completely blurred out, making the subject pop crisply.

Many attendees at the venue recognized the character, asking about the specific wig and tail versions or complimenting the intricate costume reproduction. For makeup, I elongated my eye shape, pairing red lip lacquer with light-toned contact lenses to achieve an exquisite 2D aesthetic. The layered costume, with complex bows and sleeve pleats, was somewhat heavy, requiring care while walking to avoid tripping over the tail. Yet these elaborate accessories are precisely what gave the character such rich texture. Capturing this atmosphere in a convention photo set was deeply satisfying, and the overall postures felt natural and poised throughout.
