This shoot for Ganyu Cosplay featuring a Cheongsam cosplay was located at Xinhui Ziyun Temple in Xinhui, Jiangmen. The costume adopts a modified Chinese cheongsam design paired with a plush shawl, while the overall styling retains the character's iconic color palette from Genshin Impact.

The weather on the day of the shoot was originally overcast. To present the ideal texture, we used artificial lighting on site combined with post-processing light-and-shadow reshaping to make the entire frame present a vibe of afternoon sunlight spilling down. This 'sunny day magic' technical processing beautifully highlights the character's skin tone and clothing texture, while creating a sharp color contrast with the red pillars and gray tiles of the Taoist temple.

The red and black horns on the head and the light blue hair color are Ganyu's iconic features, and this styling also heavily focused on restoring these two points, with the wig's layers trimmed very naturally. The oil-paper umbrella was chosen in a matching light blue color palette with tassels, which provides a wonderful visual extension when posing in the courtyard.

The shooting angles primarily utilized a combination of medium-full shots and close-ups. The photographer used an a7m5 body paired with a GM50.2 fixed lens, which beautifully balances portrait details and environmental framing. The composition this time intentionally borrowed the stone steps and pillars of Ziyun Temple for framework composition, and the movements were also designed with postures like lifting a leg, raising the umbrella, and lightly leaning against the railings to display the character's lightness and agility.

Choosing to shoot at Ziyun Temple was mainly because the traditional architectural structure here is very complete. The combination of stone steps, wooden doors, and green plants is highly suitable for the location scouting of a Chinese-style photography piece. Moreover, this red-and-green color collision is perfect for large-aperture lenses to express, and both front-lit or side-backlit angles can capture a wonderful sense of light. After receiving the final photos, I can clearly feel that this costume expresses a very delicate material texture under the on-site light; the embroidery details of the cheongsam and the fluffiness of the fur are both beautifully presented in front of the lens. For shooting this kind of character cosplay, the custom-making of costumes in the early stage and the on-site movement guidance are very important. Although the weather wasn't perfect this time, the final overall atmosphere and emotional expression achieved our expected goals.
