[Usada Pekora cosplay] Bailian ZX hololive Pop-Up Shop Check-in Log

Today I shot a Usada Pekora cosplay set at the hololive pop-up store in Bailian ZX (Convention flash mob). This outfit really tests fabric quality: to achieve that fluffy plush texture, an extra-thick fabric was selected for the coat, accented with faux rabbit fur along the collar and cuffs. Suiting up took some time, but the resulting photos turned out quite nicely. The wig featured light blue twin braided pigtails; to keep flyaways at bay, I smoothed it beforehand with hair serum, using several bobby pins to anchor the bunny ear headband firmly to the wig cap so it wouldn't slip during movement. For makeup, I focused on refining eye contours with subtle pale blue accents on the brow/forehead, keeping the base immaculate. Because the venue lighting was complex, a sturdy matte base was applied to prevent unwanted shine from complicating post-production.

The shooting spot was set near the exhibition area featuring neon signs and striped backdrop panels. To embody Usada Pekora's signature mix of spirited playfulness and casual nonchalance, I explored poses like placing hands on hips, resting a cheek in one hand, and varied quirky interactions. The pairing of black gloves and plush arm warmers brought visual dimension, while black pantyhose (Stockings) matched with shorts elongated leg lines on camera. The photographer guided the framing, using a wide aperture to blur out surrounding crowds and motorcycle elements to keep visual attention centered on the character. The carrot prop and blue signage served as the perfect finishing touches, offering natural hand placements and grounding the gestures. Although the pop-up shop was bustling with heavy foot traffic and ambient warmth—making shooting for hours in a thick plush coat quite physically demanding, with continuous makeup touch-ups and costume adjustments—completing a satisfying photo set in this environment was a deeply fulfilling experience.
