My experience at the hololive (hololive) booth on day two of BW2026 left a truly lasting impression. To bring Houshou Marine (Houshou Marine cosplay) to life faithfully, I poured immense care into every preparatory step. For the wig, I selected long straight reddish-purple synthetic hair, maintaining blunt bangs and long twin tails on both sides, accented with white lace hair accessories at the ends. In a high-intensity convention environment, wig maintenance is paramount—not only requiring careful styling and setting beforehand, but also timely combing after sweating to keep every strand sleek and smooth. As for makeup, I wore green-toned contact lenses, paired with deepened eyeliner, full false lashes, pink blush, and crimson lip gloss to channel her vibrant stage presence. Knowing convention lighting often washes out cosmetics, I applied the blush with slightly heavier pigmentation.

The intricate craftsmanship of the outfit was the absolute centerpiece this time. The headwear featured a black military-style beret trimmed with white piping, adorned with a golden crest in the center and sheer black lace mesh cascading along the sides, which swayed gently with every step. The top was a short-sleeved black piece featuring a white sailor lapel edged with brown stripes and a golden star pendant dangling at the collar. The chest integrated an expansive semi-sheer black mesh cutout outlined by metallic gold piping into a heart silhouette, delivering a subtle translucent glow under stage lights. The waist was cinched with a black leather belt embellished with gold heart- and four-pointed-star-shaped metal buckles, from which hung a white draped sash bearing a golden cross and intricate filigree. For the lower half, a black multi-tiered ruffled pleated mini skirt revealed lush layers of white lace petticoat beneath, creating an exceptionally rich textural hierarchy. Finished with black sheer short gloves, the overall ensemble achieved an immaculate level of completion.

At the booth, the blue-and-purple neon ambiance and surrounding set design matched the overarching aesthetic seamlessly. Although I feel my posing and camera skills still have room to grow—perhaps not fully capturing all of the Captain's magnetic allure—being able to successfully snap photos and exchange snapshots with everyone was incredibly delightful. I connected with so many fellow fans on-site; conversations flowed effortlessly, and everyone was wonderfully cooperative when striking poses for group photos. In preparation for seeing everyone again this weekend, I will continue fine-tuning my condition and adjusting minor details, such as the positioning of the belt and the fluffiness of the skirt. I look forward to presenting an even better Houshou Marine for all of you.

The curation at the hololive (hololive) booth was exceptionally thoughtful; the blue-and-purple ambient lighting formed a gorgeous visual contrast against Houshou Marine's vivid crimson locks. Moving through the halls, this intricate black-and-white dress drew many fellow fans who paused to take photos. Chatting with everyone provided valuable feedback regarding both the outfit and my poses, deepening my understanding of the character. While navigating between booths throughout the convention was physically taxing, seeing everyone's enthusiastic reactions and successfully exchanging photo memories made every ounce of effort worthwhile. Although this costume is stunning, getting dressed takes considerable time—particularly dialing in the semi-sheer bodice and aligning the metallic belt buckles to achieve the optimal silhouette. I will be donning this full ensemble again for our gathering this weekend, striving for an even more polished performance.
