Putting on this iconic yellow, white, and blue outfit of Hu Tao and sitting down in the gaming chair, it feels like instantly breaking out from modern daily life into another world of ancient martial arts. The clothing fabric is very sophisticated; that fluffy white fur on the chest and the blue tassel ties possess rich layers under the indoor primary light source, and paired with white short gloves and a black choker, the visual warm-and-cool contrast comes out immediately. To be honest, the cinched design at the waist does feel a bit restrictive, but that is precisely the unique charm of this type of character costume—one's entire spirit tightens up instantly because of the clothes. Even though I am currently leaning against the chair back with my legs casually lifted, I subconsciously carry a trace of the character's laziness and unruliness.
When shooting this set of photos, I specially chose my daily computer desk as the background. Look at the red gaming mouse pad, mechanical keyboard, and that pink gamepad scattered across the desk, along with the cluttered computer cables nearby; these life-infused items and the anime-style costume of the game character form a wonderful sense of intercrossing dimensional walls. Especially this black-and-pink patchwork gaming chair I am sitting on right now is unexpectedly a great match despite forming a contrast with the character's dynamic aura.
Since I wanted to express a relaxed and casual state today, I chose a posture with my legs crossed and lifted. The black tights reflect a delicate luster under the indoor lights, and the extended leg lines paired with the black short skirt allow the frame's tension to stretch out beautifully. With my right hand slightly raised, the gesture of the fingertips intends to convey a confident and even slightly playful语态. My photography friend used a wide-angle lens this time, looking down from a high camera position, which, combined with the physical distortion of perspective, gives the frame not only a strong sense of spatial extension but also makes the overall atmosphere look more dynamic rather than a rigid studio photoshoot feel.
Regarding the addition of post-processing effects for this set, I also feel it matches the overall style perfectly. The golden-bordered item icons overlaid on the frame, resembling elements of swords and armor, are inherently meant to increase an immersion similar to a game interface rather than being simple post-processing stickers. This style of play adds a bit of interactive fun visually to static photos. When shooting cosplay indoors normally, I actually quite love this kind of "mix-and-match"; it doesn't need a massive real-scene setup, just using the room I am most familiar with and my handiest work desk, combined with props and post-processing creativity, can still beautifully express the character's inner charm.
However, although a wide-angle lens plus a high camera position can stretch proportions, it also severely tests the shooting angles and the model's body control. Moving just a tiny bit will turn the perspective of the legs from elongated into a hilarious distortion. Fortunately, the few shots taken today basically achieved the expected results. Wearing this kind of fluffy white animal ear look, combined with double twin tails and red cord embellishments, it's actually quite hard to stay still for a long time, especially since the neck constantly has to coordinate with the upward-tilted head angle. But to present the most relaxed and natural side in the photos, one needs to precisely control every single muscle in front of the lens, which is probably both the most challenging and most interesting part of the cosplay process.
To tell the truth, this kind of game character sharing completed in an e-sports room is neither a very serious stage drama shot nor a casual selfie; it's more like us players using the way we love to briefly roleplay that version of ourselves from the game world in reality. Although the scene is everyday, the weight of the clothes, the friction of the gloves, and the feel of the black tights on the chair all bring me closer to this character. What I hope to present is simply a girl in her own little world, wearing her beloved clothes, playing games, and posting a set of images along the way to record the joy of this moment.
