These convention photos of my Rikka Lolita outfit were the result of repeated consideration for many details before stepping out. As a cosplayer who frequently portrays characters at conventions, the fabric of the costume, the layering of the color palette, and the styling of the wig directly impact the final photo quality. This time, I chose a deep purple wig paired with a black bow on top, along with eye-catching green contacts and pink-toned eye makeup, attempting to fuse the character's signature "chunibyo" vibe with a playful demeanor in the lens. The range of movement during the shoot was quite large; after all, one-legged backward kicks and frequent hand gestures require excellent balance.

The clothing has many intricate details. The white long-sleeved shirt paired with blue-purple puff sleeves, combined with the black corset and crisscross ribbon design, makes for a complex structure that truly tests the lighting. The strong overhead lights unique to the convention hall hit the white shirt, forming highlights while casting deep shadows on the black vest, adding a sense of three-dimensionality to the photos. The black glitter tie at the neckline is a highlight, presenting a subtle reflective texture from different angles, visually echoing the black platform lace-up boots and black tights to form a cohesive look.

The blue multi-layered ruffled skirt with black lace trim on the bottom half shows excellent swinging range during the one-legged lift pose. For this session, we chose several posture combinations: standing on one leg while kicking backward showcases leg extension and the texture of the thick soles well, while crossed hands or specific gestures blocking the face increase playfulness and spatial expansion.

In the noisy and crowded environment of a convention, shooting on-site is quite challenging. The blurred crowds in the background, the contours of the booths, and the movement of other characters became natural backdrops. The use of shallow depth of field effectively separated the cosplayer in the foreground from the cluttered environment, focusing visual attention on facial expressions and garment textures. Because most on-site lighting came from directly above, the makeup required heavier lower eyeshadow to avoid shadows that look like dark circles, and pink blush on the cheeks ensured the face didn't look pale under the harsh light.

Regarding wig maintenance, I specifically preserved some airiness and fluffiness this time, and adjusted the position of the hair bundle and bow on top multiple times, as the airflow and crowds at a convention easily make short wigs look messy. The shoot went smoothly this time, without any accidents like strong winds blowing the wig off or slipping on the exhibition floor.

The final effect of these convention photos feels very much in tune with the unexpected joy unique to conventions. There's no need to pursue the perfect, exquisite lighting of a studio; instead, the slightly harsh light and messy background on-site give the photos a greater sense of reality and "presence." Whether it's the dynamic snapshot of the one-legged pose or the配合 of hand movements in the close-up, every shot carries the fullness and satisfaction of the day.

As for the environment, meeting interesting people is part of the experience. Photographers with large gear and cosplayers in all sorts of gorgeous outfits—it's very fun to portray characters in such an occasion. I am quite satisfied with the recreation of this Lolita outfit; the white sleeves and collar, the corset ribbons, and the layers of the blue skirt all show perfect details in the lens. Overall, it was a pleasant and rewarding convention photos experience, and I hope these photos convey the character's confident and slightly proud demeanor.
