Last weekend, I finally scheduled the shoot for this deep-sea jellyfish Cantarella Fisalia photoset with my photographer. Unlike standard studio shoots, we intentionally chose a set dominated by a cold color palette, using white Roman columns, large areas of blue and white silk flowers, and flowing white tulle curtains as the primary elements, aiming to create a serene yet dreamy deep-sea atmosphere. The overall tone leans cold, which happens to temper the pearlescent texture of the character's outfit. Personally, I am extremely satisfied with the final photos.

Let's talk about the costume, props, and makeup this time. The upper half of this outfit features a tight corset design with a patchwork of white lace and satin. The cutouts at the neckline and the metal rhinestone accessories are real highlights, which elongate the neck line while ensuring a rich sense of layering in front of the camera. The outer blue-and-white gradient petal-like cape is made of a very lightweight fabric, creating a natural floating effect under a gentle indoor breeze—its texture is much better than expected. The wig consists of long, wavy light-purple hair, which, combined with deep blue contact lenses and a touch of bright red lip color for visual contrast, accentuates the three-dimensionality of the facial features and the cleanliness of the makeup under cold-toned lighting, preventing it from blending into the background.

The white over-knee socks are paired with lace garter straps featuring gold chains on the sides. The texture details of the over-knee socks were also intentionally shot with a wide aperture to enhance the crispness of the frame during leg close-ups. The white pointed flats echo the details on the gloves, making the overall outfit highly complete. When posing, I tried several different angles. The shot where I am sitting with my chin resting on one hand is my personal favorite composition; it beautifully showcases the corset details of the costume and the leg ornaments, and the overall portrait proportions are very relaxed and extended. The inverted one was quite a test of flexibility, but the resulting perspective effect is very unique, emphasizing the leg curves and the sock texture. There are also a few close-ups lying on the ground looking up, and the feeling delivered by my gaze perfectly matches the character's cool and aloof atmosphere.

During the shoot, my cooperation with the photographer "Niuwa" was very seamless. To prevent the blue-and-white main color palette from making the image look too flat, we put a lot of effort into the lighting setup. We used large-area soft lights to illuminate my face and white clothing, while utilizing side-backlight to outline the edges of the wig, giving the character a natural sense of separation from the background. The entire shoot took about three to four hours. At one point, the wig got caught on an accessory, but luckily we had backup tools on set and sorted it out quickly. This slightly challenging shooting process is actually the part I enjoy quite a bit as a cosplayer, because every tiny adjustment presents a different state under the lens.

The skirt hem of this costume is quite large. Although it makes walking a bit difficult, the effect when it naturally spreads out while sitting or lying on my side is incredibly gorgeous. Many friends might worry before the final photoset comes out that costumes with large color blocks as the base and fine accessories easily look cluttered. However, looking at the final photos, the main white color scheme with blue-and-white accents is actually very restrained and high-end. I feel that the meaning of cosplay lies not just in putting on a costume, but more in how to recreate that specific visual impression through camera language and one's own understanding of the character. This photoset as a whole presents the deep-sea traits I had in mind—both elegant and holding a sense of distance, cool and aloof yet without losing gorgeousness.
