[Kafu Cosplay] A Day of Wandering, Eating, and Playing maimai DX at Dream Rhythm Game Carnival

Day 1 of the Dream Rhythm Game Carnival wrapped up smoothly, so taking some free time to organize the stash of photos shot throughout the day.

Most of the daytime was spent minding the booth. As an exhibitor, maintaining booth order and keeping supplies stocked were top priorities. The outfit design I wore features white, blue, and black as primary tones. The white jacket has good structure, nicely supporting my shoulder line, while the white leggings on my lower half actually show subtle woven textures under indoor lighting, so moving around doesn't look flat. Minding the booth required frequent interaction with fellow rhythm game fans—answering prices, verifying stock, introducing merchandise, and even helping debug some equipment. Standing for over half a day definitely left my lower back feeling a bit sore. Since I was wearing a white jacket over everything, I had to be mindful at all times not to get grease or stains on it from the booth, making my movements much more restrained than usual.

What got really fun was the evening schedule after closing the booth. I changed shoes and headed straight downstairs to the arcade to play maimai DX. The first photo captures that moment standing in front of the cabinet—that white DX cabinet had an oddly harmonious color resonance with my outfit! Playing on the cabinet in this outfit turned out to be a real physical workout; my long white twin tails easily swung in front of my line of sight on screen when flailing my arms, so I had to constantly brush my hair aside. Also, while the blue shoes with yellow trim offered great wrapping support, the toe pressure points during fast streams felt quite different from regular sneakers. Luckily, the cabinet's touch sensors were responsive enough, so I didn't lose out on any points I should have gotten.

The biggest surprise was probably the chance encounter outside the venue. I originally just wanted to step outside for fresh air, but unexpectedly bumped right into TRG. Everyone usually chats enthusiastically in group chats, so meeting face-to-face offline was a pleasant shock! We quickly exchanged thoughts on today's exhibition and complained together about venue temperatures—opportunities to meet up offline like this always sweep away an entire day's exhaustion.

I also have to mention the physical sensation of wearing this outfit. Because the wig needed fixing, the black horn/headphone structure on my head clamped down pretty tightly, creating slight pressure, but it was fine once used to it. The white jacket fabric made a slight rustling sound when walking, and under the air-conditioned indoor venue, it didn't feel stuffy or hot. Overall, the look maintains high character recognizability without being overly dramatic—perfect for Casual cosplay photo check-ins. The shot in front of the Hamazushi sign in the photos is one of my favorite check-ins; the lighting captured the blue accent stripes on the jacket and the black-and-white layers around the collar just right.

After officially wrapping up for the night, feeling famished, I headed straight into Hamazushi inside the mall. Taking off the wig, hair accessories, and jacket brought instant relief. Sitting at the conveyor belt sushi table, I first ordered a piping hot bowl of ramen to lay a base—complete with two thick slices of chashu pork and a soft-boiled egg—paired with an icy drink. As calories rapidly refueled my body, this was probably the most satisfyingly real highlight of the day. Looking back, managing a booth by day, hitting the arcade at night, and running into friends outside made for a packed itinerary, yet every piece fell perfectly into place. This atmosphere of pure joy is precisely the unique charm of in-person Rhythm game exhibition events.
