For this classic outfit of the Illustrious-class 3rd ship from Azur Lane, we put tremendous effort into everything from costume and hair/makeup to on-site lighting in order to capture that blend of magnificence and playful charm.
Let's start with the costume design. This white bodysuit was a true test of tailoring, as it needed to be figure-hugging without restricting movement. The classic monochrome palette, combined with rich ruffles and lace details, offers strong visual depth. The sleeves, in particular, feature a detached design that preserves the original flowy aesthetic while exposing the shoulders and collarbones, giving the upper body a lighter feel. The large black bow across the chest is a key focal point, harmonizing with the plush white bunny ears and contrasting black-and-white bows on top of my head. The headpiece was securely balanced to prevent slipping during the shoot without crushing the wig. The silky silver-white long wig was specially chosen, and paired with see-through bangs, it brought out the character's lively yet gentle demeanor.
The styling of the lower half was one of the core visual highlights we wanted to emphasize. The fitted black tights not only flattered the leg line, but also took on a delicate sheen under overhead and backlighting as part of this black tights outfit. The white lace thigh garter skillfully delineated the boundary between black and white. Paired with pure white high heels, it maintained color harmony with the top while elongating the legs, making the standing poses appear exceptionally poised and elegant. The white bouquet prop served as the finishing touch—whether held in both hands or raised in one, it effectively added variety to hand poses.
During the shoot, we focused on capturing two distinct states. The pose in Photo 1 captures the spirited energy of meeting the Commander for the first time: standing on one leg with a ballet-like lightness while raising the bouquet with one hand, creating an upward-flowing silhouette. The flare from the overhead lights enveloped the subject in a dreamy halo. In contrast, Photo 2 is a close-up focused on emotional nuance, where strong backlighting outlined the fluffy edges of the bunny girl cosplay ears and hair strands, making the character look as if glowing from within.
