[Firefly Con Cosplay] Cool-Sweet Green Color-Blocked Outfit Photos Are Here!

This time, the Firefly Con cosplay photos are finally organized, and every detail feels worth recording. Though running between anime conventions back-to-back is tiring, seeing the finished shots makes everything feel completely worth it. For this shoot, a Sony A7IV paired with the FE 24-70mm F2.8 GM II lens was used. In an indoor studio photography environment, the three-dimensional depth brought by the focal range and large aperture was truly suitable for showing off the texture details of this outfit for Sony A7IV portrait.

I did plenty of homework on makeup, hair, and styling before the convention. The most time-consuming part was definitely this high-saturation Green hair styling. To create the fluffy updo structure, many hair pads were padded inside—it needed visual volume without being too heavy to affect wig stability. The butterfly and heart hair accessories dotting the top of the head were placed after multiple adjustments to find the best height contrast. Base makeup emphasized a clean and clear look, and the red embellishment under the eyes was the soul of this styling makeup—both neutralizing the coldness of green and adding a touch of playful charm.

The costume design can be considered the core highlight of this look. High-contrast color blocking of white, green, blue, and red could easily look messy without material contrasts. Fortunately, this outfit was made with great care: the upper body's semi-sheer white loose blouse, crop top inner shirt, and red-and-green cross-straps create strong visual layering. Meanwhile, the lower body's royal blue glossy leather pleated skirt shows off a lovely sheen under studio lighting. The leg section features an asymmetrical design—one side with a neon green thigh-high sock, and the other with a white sock paired with red-and-black leather straps, matched with these red-and-blue thick-soled sneakers. The entire outfit blends sweet-and-cool style with a touch of sporty vibe, fitting the summer atmosphere perfectly.

At the convention venue or during studio shoots, I usually adjust my state based on props and scenes. The prop setup for this shoot was dreamlike: European-style white Roman pillars, light blue and pure white interwoven gauze curtains, accented with white roses and withered branch scenery, creating a cold yet sophisticated atmosphere overall. Sitting on stone pillars with legs naturally crossed into a playful V-gesture, or placing one hand on the hip making pointing actions, or extending arms to stretch out, the photographer captured the most natural and relaxed moments in a very short time. There were even shots sitting on the floor, where the skirt spread out along with the gauze, making the frame appear even more dynamic. It's fair to say that shifting visual focus forward using props, combined with bodily tension, creates a true narrative feel in photos.

As a cosplayer who frequently attends offline conventions, I know well that quickly entering character state is most important in convention environments. Although today's outfit has many elements, it didn't feel overly restrictive when worn. Whether posing under studio sets or walking around outside the venue, the feeling was very comfortable. Fabric with such high color saturation heavily tests the photographer's control over lighting ratios in complex lighting, but thankfully the final shoot results completely met my expectations.

Summer is all about daring to try such refreshing and eye-catching color schemes, and taking photos in the Firefly Con atmosphere really fills one with positive energy.
