When I decided to create these Photographic works inspired by \"Maid Supremacism\" and \"cats,\" my immediate reaction was wanting that very translucent, soft visual texture. The outfit I wore that day was intertwined with pure white and light blue tones. The upper body features a short-sleeved ruffled top with puff sleeves, and a prominent golden little bell is adorned at the chest neckline, which serves as a highlight of the entire styling, creating a light visual focus when moving. For headwear, I wore a cat ear headband with white plush balls and drooping white ribbons, which, paired with my custom black blunt-bangs twin-tail wig, brings out a lively, agile feel on top of the overall sweetness. The skirt is a multi-layered fluffy skirt design; to present a beautiful umbrella-like curve, I added a soft petticoat inside, allowing the skirt hem to spread naturally whether standing statically or sitting down.
For the coordination, I chose slightly sheer white tights, paired with small white-based shoes decorated with fuzz, which keeps the lower body color highly unified and pure, while also increasing the overall soft and cute vibe. When shooting these photos, we deliberately chose a warm, lifestyle-oriented setting, such as the kitchen-style background you can see in the second picture. The white double-door refrigerator, log-colored storage shelves, round wall clock, and green plants dotted in the corner all create a very comfortable everyday feeling. Standing in front of the counter, I gently lifted the skirt hem with both hands; this moment was actually meant to highlight the layers and rich tailoring of the skirt, while the standing posture also nicely showcases the leg extension brought by the White thigh-highs outfit.
The first picture was taken while I was sitting by the window. At that time, the blinds were pulled down, and the light from outside filtered through, casting grid-like light and shadows on the white blinds. I casually sat on a spot covered with a light-colored diamond-patterned blanket, accompanied by a yellow star pillow as an accent. The lighting in this scene is very soft, with very little contrast against the white skirt, making the entire frame exceptionally tranquil and gentle. In the third picture, I changed to a more lively posture, sitting directly on the edge of the dining table covered with a blue-and-white checkered tablecloth. The edge of this tablecloth also has red bow decorations, giving it a fairy-tale feel. I reached out to touch the ends of my hair, attempting to break the relatively static composition and add some dynamic interactive feeling to the frame. The table was also elaborately arranged with multi-layered dessert trays, holding strawberry cupcakes and macaron props, as well as transparently packaged cookies. These exquisite little props made the baking atmosphere of the entire scene richer, and perfectly matched the cute and sweet state I wanted to present.
Regarding shooting tips, doing Maid cosplay and Catgirl cosplay shooting in such lifestyle-oriented Indoor photography scenes places certain demands on the model's expressiveness and the photographer's light control. Since there is a lot of diffuse light on-site, it tests our control over makeup even more; the base makeup needs to be as translucent and clean as possible to blend with the white-toned clothing under soft light. In terms of posture, soft-style pieces like this do not require strong tension and expressiveness; instead, the body should be relaxed to maintain a lazy and close feeling. In post-processing, I tend to retain the texture and the original soft-light atmosphere without excessive sharpening, which would otherwise ruin the dreamy light-and-shadow transitions of the raw photos. Although the style of this set is not as hardcore as those with gorgeous armor and large props, such soft, cute, and everyday lifestyle works require a high degree of meticulousness in prop selection, costume coordination, and color uniformity. Through matching elements like the White thigh-highs outfit and detailed textures, the echo of every small element can make the overall styling logic more self-consistent. After finishing this work, I truly felt that this soft and sweet atmosphere is very infectious, and I hope to convey this cat-like lightness and the healing feel through these few attempts from different angles.
