The convention photos from this event are finally organized! I cosplayed Reimu Hakurei in her classic red-and-white shrine maiden outfit. The oversized bow on top of her head and the white shide paper strips hanging on both sides are instantly recognizable. Swinging the wide water sleeves actually takes quite a bit of arm strength to control, but the dynamic movement was captured beautifully during the shoot. Lighting at the convention venue was plenty bright, especially the natural light streaming in from the second-floor skylight, which gave the red fabric a clear, translucent texture. I specifically paired a white thigh-highs outfit with platform geta sandals to elongate the leg lines without tiring my feet too much after standing for long hours. My photographer friend snapped plenty of jumping mid-air moments and sitting shots holding spell cards, even adding a few glowing red light butterflies in post-processing to infuse a magical touch into the scenes. This outfit actually features a lot of subtle details—the ruffled skirt hem, the small yellow necktie at the collar, and the embroidered pouch hanging at the waist were all carefully faithfully recreated. Running around posing at the convention was a bit tiring, but seeing the final photos made it completely worth it. The reflections of the white thigh-highs on the shiny floor looked really neat, and we slightly adjusted the color temperature in post-processing to make the red and white tones even purer. The convention vibe was fantastic, and meeting so many fellow fans for cosplay photo sharing felt wonderful. As a cosplayer, every character portrayal is a fresh re-interpretation of their personality. I feel I managed to capture some of Reimu Hakurei's lively, airy charm this time. On the gear side, securing the hair ornament took considerable effort so it wouldn't tilt while running around, and fortunately, the final photos look very natural. On shoot day, we also did several continuous dynamic burst shots; though not all are posted, these selected shots best highlight the breezy grace of the outfit. I hope to cosplay more characters from Touhou Project in the future, gradually bringing this mysterious and bustling world to life in my own way.
