[Kuki Shinobu cosplay] Genshin Impact Ninja Combat Pose Reference: A Mutual Torment Photoshoot

Shooting with photographer @胡仔玛玛 this time was an absolute session of mutual torment—we spent an entire afternoon pushing the limits for this Genshin Impact Kuki Shinobu cosplay. To capture the character's crisp, razor-sharp combat prowess, we defined this shoot as a hardcore ninja combat pose reference. I handled both modeling and post-processing retouching. Wanting that raw, authentic after-battle realism, I chose a costume crafted from structured leather-like fabric; it was completely non-breathable, working up a heavy sweat with even the slightest movement.

To chase ultimate visual tension, we tackled numerous high-difficulty stunts: backbends, ground sliding, high kicks, and mid-air jumps. Platform sandals paired with metallic leg armor made rapid weight-shifting exceedingly awkward, putting immense strain on my ankles—yet to nail the shot, we had to reset and repeat again and again. It truly was a case of one brave enough to strike the pose, and one daring enough to snap it. Hu Zai Mama had exacting standards for shutter timing and perspective distortion; for certain angles to achieve extreme foreshortening, I had to thrust my weapon or leg directly into the lens while clenching every muscle to keep my balance. Between one-legged high kicks and low ground-sweep crouches demanding intense core strength, my aching muscles were screaming in protest.

During post-production retouching, I deliberately preserved natural skin texture and ambient chiaroscuro, avoiding over-softening to maintain a gritty, hard-boiled realism of having fought through actual battle. While the shoot felt like grueling physical endurance training, seeing every strand of hair whipping through the air in sync with dynamic movement made all the exhaustion vanish into thin air.
