This photo set features Thelema from Honkai Impact 3rd Part 2, in her "Fading Dreams, Dimming Shadows" outfit. From finalizing the plan to completing the shoot, the preparation took quite a long time, and today I can finally share these finished photos with everyone.

Let's first discuss the highlight of this look, which was also the part that required the most thought. The costume features a red, black, and purple spliced design; the upper body uses glossy dark red fabric paired with black pleated ruffles and hollow-out lace cuffs, while the neckline is accented with a black-and-white striped choker, offering very rich details. To restore the character's regal yet dangerous aura, the skirt hem utilizes deep purple fabric with silver embroidered piping along the edges. The fluffy volume in the photos was propped up using quite a few internal supports beforehand. Although moving between furniture in boots during the shoot somewhat restricted my mobility, the overall sense of layering turned out remarkably striking.

The coordination of wig and makeup was key to deciding the final outcome. The long silver hair needed to evoke a light, slightly windswept fluidity. During shooting, the photographer hid a small fan behind me, capturing that relaxed, languid demeanor the exact moment my hair strands fluttered up. For makeup, the most critical element was wearing purplish-red contact lenses; with a larger proportion of eye makeup enhanced by delicate eyelashes, my gaze on camera appeared both soft and chillingly cold. I chose a classic true red lip color to echo the red-and-black dress, which pulled apart the facial color depth nicely under low-light conditions through lip highlighting.

Regarding the location, we specifically selected an indoor studio resembling a vintage Dark Gothic mansion. Inside were many wooden jointed mannequins, an element I felt fit Thelema's character lore impeccably. During composition, I struck poses interacting with and controlling the mannequins, paired with floor-length mirrors behind, a dark red leather sofa, and an aged golden chandelier, creating a contrasting atmosphere of being confined yet in control. For one shot, I half-sat on the leather chair with thick black iron chains winding across the floor, gazing down into the camera, instantly evoking that uncanny yet gorgeous aura.

The synergy with the photographer throughout this shoot went very smoothly. As someone who frequently does Anime cosplay photoshoots, I have my own understanding of light and angles. This time, the photographer employed classic low-key lighting, narrowing the highlight area to focus only on my face and torso, letting clutter in the surrounding scene fade into shadows to maximally preserve my facial makeup details and the translucency of my purple eyes. During close-up shots, I paired my pose with a gesture using my black lace glove to lightly touch my lips, which delivered great expressive power alongside close-up camera compression.

As a cosplayer, I strive to achieve both form and spirit in character recreation; beyond costumes and wigs, mastering expressions is equally crucial. The "Fading Dreams, Dimming Shadows" look gives me a feeling of commanding elegance. Therefore, I avoided overly exaggerated movements in front of the lens, instead using subtle micro-adjustments—like tilting my head slightly, letting my eye focus wander, and changing vertical body positions—to convey a relaxed yet proud body language. Different angles in this set carry distinct narrative feels, and incorporating iron chain props alongside mannequin elements added a rich sense of anime lore mystery to the imagery in this Dark Gothic set.
