[The Shorekeeper cosplay] Wuthering Waves: Golden Echoes Ready-made costume alteration and Self-styled outfit Record

This entire Self-styled outfit for The Shorekeeper cosplay from Wuthering Waves (Golden Echoes) was mainly achieved through Ready-made costume alteration. The initial goal was to use suitable fabrics and off-the-shelf accessories to replicate the layered depth of the original character design as closely as possible. Before making alterations, I drafted a rough plan for the accessories. The main body of the dress involved adding tulle to a base ready-made dress, utilizing the wavy Gradient tulle or organza shown in P2–3. Multiple layers were draped below the waist and around the hem to create a cascading stacked effect, giving it a richer, weightier motion when walking. The sleeves and back drapes also utilized similar sheer fabric with great translucency.

For the tassels, I used pearl beaded chains combined with tassels disassembled from vintage earrings, interspersed with butterfly spacer beads, patiently threading them together with needle and thread before securing them to the waist side. For the black floral ornaments, I found several similar items, but the sizing was always slightly off—the purchased ones were a bit too small, so for larger blooms, I handmade ribbon flowers by wrapping black ribbon or rolling them by hand, accenting them with small black beads strung along fine chains nearby.

The headpiece took considerable time to craft, using stiffer tulle cut to shape and pressed with an iron into undulating waves. Because the tulle is rather stiff, temperature control was vital during ironing to prevent edges from curling up. For earrings, I found similar styles, but to achieve higher fidelity, I made them in two separate parts: the upper portion featured a standalone blossom, while the lower portion consisted of purchased metal chains and beads strung into tassels.

For the neckpiece, I haven't found an ideal finished item yet, so I temporarily used an available substitute chain from my stash while hunting for more accurate materials. The shoulder chains and leg chains were purchased off-the-shelf metal pieces; after cutting off unnecessary sections and disconnecting inaccurate joints with tweezers, I re-spliced and assembled them by hand. The clasps snap easily during this process, so careful handling was essential. The shoes are classic basic black heels, paired with the long leg chain to flatter leg contours.

Most of the crafting effort was concentrated on adjusting and assembling these accessories. While I strived to capture the original design as faithfully as possible, certain compromises were inevitable due to material constraints.
