This time I'm sharing the Halloween Little devil cosplay look of Kasane Teto. The core idea of the shoot is to use a dark red European-style studio paired with jack-o'-lantern props to create the exclusive atmosphere of a Halloween little devil. In terms of costume preparation, the black and red double-layered ruffled miniskirt and the exaggerated tubular wig are the focus of the styling. For accessories, I chose a lace-up choker with an orange bow tie, little devil wings, and chunky-soled martin boots. Combined, these elements already establish a very clear Halloween visual tone.
In terms of photography pose reference and composition, my favorite angle in this set is lying on the carpet with my legs naturally resting on the edge of the red sofa. This low-angle composition not only shows the scattered feel of the skirt hem and jack-o'-lanterns, but also elongates the leg lines, fully displaying the combination of black stockings and boots. Placing hands near the cheeks can create a lazy and slightly charming Halloween atmosphere. This pose is perfect for long images or single cover visual presentations.
If you also want to shoot this style, the red sofa and wooden low cabinet in the scene, as well as the jack-o'-lanterns and red apples on the floor, are definitely the finishing touches. In addition to the sofa area, utilizing the vintage gramophone, crystal chandelier, and wooden wine barrel in the scene as backgrounds can also yield different scenery. However, the photographer said this studio might already be out of print, so if you want to shoot a similar dark red velvet effect, you might need to look for venues with rich red velvet elements and a retro European style, or set up the scene yourself.
For makeup and expression control, I chose to simplify this time. Instead of doing exaggerated Halloween special effects makeup, I maintained a clean base makeup paired with red lips. I tried to keep my gaze and facial expressions relaxed and calm, which actually forms a contrast with props like the apple and jack-o'-lanterns in my hands, highlighting the mysterious yet playful traits of the little devil. For shoes, the chunky-soled lace-up martin boots firmly stabilize the visual center of gravity of the overall black-and-red color scheme, and also make the legs look more slender and straight in standing poses.
The overall skirt hem adopts a multi-layered ruffled design, which, along with the small black devil wings on the back, makes the overall silhouette look fuller whether in lying or standing positions. The black stockings paired with the black thigh-strap details present different visual layers under various camera angles. Compared to wearing just a dress, adding these accessories with Gothic Lolita elements unifies the overall styling style and fits the dark fairy tale Halloween theme better. When adjusting the body position and the placement of the skirt hem, I pay special attention to ensuring the edges don't block the props, while letting the small pumpkin bag hang naturally at the side of the waist for decoration.
For cosers who want to try this look, the props can be even richer. Like the devil fork mentioned in the post, you can actually hold it in your hand to unlock more body interaction poses. Whether sitting on a high stool shooting from a high angle or leaning against a low cabinet with your hand propping up the counter beside you, it can give the picture a stronger sense of narrative. In the use of light, contrasting the warm-toned chandelier inside the venue with the cool-toned natural light outside the window can better display the texture of the black-and-red clothing materials and lace edges. When shooting this style of photos, the early cooperation between character expressions and lighting is far more important than post-production heavy filtering. The experience from this set is that as long as the scene props, makeup, and styling are in place, the final photos will have a great atmosphere. I hope this Halloween shooting experience can provide you with some practical photography pose reference and outfit inspiration.
