For the outdoor shoot of "Summer Time Rendering", I cosplayed Ushio Kofune, and my partner cosplayed Mio Kofune. To make the frames fit the original summer island atmosphere, we specially picked a very sunny day to go to the seaside. The sunshine on that day was extremely fierce, but precisely because of the sufficient light, the blue tones of the sea water and the warm yellow of the beach formed a very distinct contrast, and the photo output effect is quite good.
First, let's talk about my Ushio Kofune styling. The black one-piece swimsuit looks simple, but its visual impact on the beach is very strong once worn. To restore the character, I matched it with a thin silver necklace with a shell pendant, a detail I really like myself. The wig was chosen as milk-gold-toned long straight hair. To look more natural, the bangs were trimmed in advance and styled. In terms of makeup, to match the golden hair and blue pupils, the eye makeup used a contrasting color blending of blue and gold, and the eyebrows were also treated with eyebrow dye to become light golden. The overall feeling presented has both 2D features without looking too abrupt.
My partner Mio Kofune's styling is the classic blue and white sailor suit paired with a dark pleated skirt, equipped with a dark bow tie. The combination of sailor suit and swimsuit created a very interesting visual contrast at the seaside, one leaning towards daily campus life, and the other towards summer beach. This sense of contrast also enriched our interaction in front of the lens, presenting an intertwined atmosphere of daily life and vacation.
The shooting process actually tested our physical strength quite a bit. Because we wanted to capture that dynamic feeling of natural running, we ran back and forth along the edge of the waves several times. Being barefoot on the beach was fine, but stepping into the water with sneakers made the soles covered in wet sand, and every step felt heavier. However, these minor awkwardness didn't affect the shooting mood, but instead allowed us to let go and play. The sea breeze was strong, and the golden long hair was often blown across the face, requiring the photographer to seize the right moment and press the shutter at the instant I turned my head or looked into the lens.
Besides running by the seaside, we also shot some everyday relaxing scenes on a nearby outdoor terrace. Sitting at the black metal table, I reached out to tidy up my partner's short hair blown messy by the sea breeze, and that relaxed and cozy state was particularly natural. During shooting, I tried my best to keep my expression management relaxed, with eyes looking straight into the lens, or carrying a thoughtful slight smile.
Aside from the sunshine and beach, the overall ambiance of this shoot is more about conveying a sense of summer clarity. Although the character's background carries some complex emotions, in this set of main photos, I wanted more to show the relaxed and happy atmosphere among summer sea breeze, beach, and companions. Special thanks to the photographer for the hard-working candid shots, running back and forth under the sun to find good angles, and capturing many vivid moments we didn't deliberately pose for. Looking at the final photos, it felt like that hot yet vibrant summer seaside was recorded all over again, and this memory is very precious to me.
