[Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay] Insanely Cute Shoot Yesterday: Same-Day Edited cpsp Convention photos

Yesterday at the cpsp venue, I shot this set of Convention photos for Exusiai the New Covenant cosplay. Since they were shot and retouched on the same day, I spent the entire ride home staring at the raw photos. The most complex part of this costume was the floating halo above the head; in reality, there was a thin invisible support rig, requiring careful camera angles to avoid exposing it. The bright red wig was vibrant, but wearing it for hours felt heavy, and moving around required vigilance against frizz. The white base top was quite form-fitting, while the glossy black leather outer jacket was stiff; though it looked incredibly cool, walking through crowded convention halls was undeniably stuffy. The White thigh-highs were the focal point of the styling; to sculpt flattering leg lines, pulling and adjusting them took considerable effort. The red straps at the top of the stockings, paired with thigh rings and black-and-red platform tactical boots, visually elongated leg proportions significantly.

During the shoot, I posed in various ways—such as holding the tactical rifle with a peace sign, or sitting on the venue floor. Since the floor was hard, sitting there for a while felt chilly, but it was well worth it for great shots. The photographer, a close friend, deliberately scouted dimmer spots to leverage floor reflections, making the glossy leather texture and red hair stand out brilliantly. To recreate the character feel, makeup focused on the eyes and little canine fangs; looking in the mirror after finishing, I even felt charmed by the cuteness myself.

Post-processing centered on refining the leather's light/shadows and skin tones; complex venue lights left stray reflections on raw shots that needed cleaning up, while smoothing the White thigh-highs and shifting overall color grading toward cooler tones to isolate the subject—creating a cool yet playful ambiance. Editing late into the night, the shots felt increasingly adorable; the mix of faithful character traits with cool tactical contrast was so engaging. The ensemble looks intricate, especially sitting beside those black props with a firearm by my side, giving intense atmospheric depth. As a cosplay photo work, though tiring, seeing the flawless outcome made all yesterday's effort worthwhile. The pairing of White thigh-highs and a skirt is super photogenic, capturing the character vibe of Arknights to perfection. The edited photos look so crisp and pleasant—here's a sneak peek of a few!
