This Evelyn Chevalier costume features intricate details—a white high-neck top paired with complex black leather straps and glossy black pants, creating a striking Tactical style look. In pre-shoot discussions with the photographer, the priority was highlighting fabric textures and the character's sharp demeanor. Glossy leather is notoriously difficult to shoot, as studio strobes easily blow out large areas across the trouser legs and wash out natural grain. Adjusting light placements iteratively ensured highlights landed precisely along the hips and outer thighs, yielding the refined sheen seen in the photos. Styling the long hair was equally demanding; the bangs had to sit just along the edge of the eyes, harmonizing with purple eye makeup to evoke a cold, collected aura. The coat with its crimson lining served as an essential visual element—worn over the shoulders facing front in the second image, it neatly framed the tie and chest harness structure, anchoring the centered composition chosen for the cover.
Executing the single-leg lift pose heavily engaged core stability. Fortunately, despite the extensive strapping, the costume allowed adequate mobility. Finding the right balance point enabled the red lightsaber effect to streak dynamic arcs across the frame while elongating leg lines. The greatest hurdle during shooting was keeping the collar and harness aligned, as any slight shift appeared cluttered. Once settled into the movement, the dangling metal rings and tassels swayed naturally with each pose, adding kinetic energy. The clash of the black coat against the red lining created bold visual punch against the neutral grey studio, sharply set off by the glossy leather pants. Capturing this cool-toned aesthetic was a rewarding experience, and I look forward to tackling similar styles again.
