[Honor of Kings] Xishi and Yao's Spring Festival Greetings Showcase Is Here

For this Spring Festival Chinese-style Honor of Kings photoshoot featuring Xishi cosplay and Dongfang Yao Cosplay, we selected a real studio setting rich in traditional Chinese atmosphere. To capture the poetic vibe of \"destined across past lives, meeting in this lifetime,\" photographer WiFi put immense thought into scene setup. Deep-toned bamboo blinds and wooden divider screens served as the backdrop, while floor surfaces were covered with crinkled silver reflective cloth—a material that not only keeps lighting translucent, but also reflects light spots from red lanterns and golden branches, giving the composition modern photographic refinement alongside traditional charm.

Regarding outfit styling, my modified Chinese-style attire balanced mobility with visual presence. The color blocking of off-white and warm brown, combined with subtle dark totem patterns on the trousers, conveyed a crisp demeanor. My partner's Xishi ensemble featured a vibrant red, blue, and white palette, with double bun hairstyles and red ribbon ties that brought out a lively festive mood. During prep, we curated abacuses, golden ingots, candied hawthorns, and red couplets with gold calligraphy as core props, truly materializing the New Year spirit. When taking duo shots like Photo 3—where both of us hold banners reading \"May Wealth Come In\" and \"May Lucky Stars Shine High\"—we repeatedly adjusted stances and hand positions to establish a balanced visual triangle between couplets, with the photographer verifying lighting setups several times before locking the framing.

During the shoot, the most enjoyable moments stemmed from detailed interactions. Red gift boxes bearing the \"Blessing\" character and small white ceramic pots on the table added genuine life to the frame once textures clicked. In shots where my partner held an abacus and ledger, we tested daily New Year poses to convey a narrative of two characters in a busy, heartwarming Spring Festival scene, exchanging Spring Festival greetings rather than plain static poses.

For post-processing color grading, we intentionally boosted the saturation of reds and golds while dimming deep background contrast, ensuring the characters and couplets instantly grab attention. Photographer WiFi excels at capturing cosplayer expressiveness without forcing exaggerated facial expressions, catching natural, relaxed moments for a smooth result. Traditional Chinese-style photography tests overall coordination—from wigs and makeup to unified scene elements. The final outcome exceeded expectations, making this attempt to place Honor of Kings characters into a Spring Festival setting while preserving their core identities deeply meaningful.
