[Lily Yan cosplay] Balala the Fairies Dark Fairy Look Official Photoshoot

I've finally finished releasing the official photos for this Lily Yan Dark Fairy cosplay look. Rather than focusing solely on her playful, mischievous side, I wanted to capture her deep-seated cool elegance and tsundere charm. The moment I received this costume, I decided to interpret her character through a completely fresh visual approach.

The costume design is rich in detail; the purple-pink gradient fabric offers rich layering, with sharp lines defining the silhouette from the neckline down to the waist. I paired it with black fishnet stockings and light purple platform boots—a combination that honors her magical roots while exuding stage-worthy flair. For props, I brought a black magic sword alongside a blue-purple magic violin; their contrasting natures—one rigid, one graceful—perfectly reflect the character's multi-faceted identity. Posing with the violin prop during the shoot certainly took a bit of extra effort.

The Purple hairstyle is a personal favorite—long, straight light violet locks paired with her signature butterfly-shaped hair accessories. Under the studio lights, the sheen of the wig looked gorgeous. We chose outdoor stone stairs for the location, where cool-toned lighting struck both the stone and my outfit to create crisp, defined shadows. The seated pose in the first photo aims to convey a sense of confident composure, while the dynamic shot with the violin emphasizes deep immersion.

Cool lighting setups can be tricky depending on the location, but we carefully controlled the light density to highlight metallic accents and blue luster across the outfit. Setting the lights wasn't just about illuminating my face, but also ensuring shadows fell at precisely the right angles to complement prop placement, achieving a dramatic yet darkly magnificent mood. I am thoroughly satisfied with the completion level of this Dark Fairy cosplay—from costume intricacies to prop fidelity—and every shoot remains a fresh journey of understanding the character.
