School is over, shall we walk together? The light this afternoon was exceptionally good, with the warm sun casting slanted rays upon the paved paths of the campus. Capitalizing on this light and shadow, Lin Zai and I shot a set for this Zenless Zone Zero Ellen Joe cosplay photoshoot.

The concept behind this photoset was to capture the character's seemingly lazy, nonchalant, yet inherently cool campus vibe. Honestly, we did a lot of homework on the details of the makeup and hair styling to accurately grasp her traits. First was the short black hair with that finishing touch of orange-pink highlights on the red eye wig, which restored vibrant colors beautifully under the outdoor light. To align with the character's setting, I specially chose red contact lenses combined with a slightly dark eyeliner makeup look, giving the gaze a subtly sharp edge when caught off-guard.

For the outfit, a basic white shirt and deep blue pleated skirt are the standard configuration, but the visual focus is actually that asymmetric, single-sided black graffiti tall boot. The white graffiti patterns and patch details on the boot beautifully manifest the character's street-style personality with a touch of a delinquent vibe. Paired with this black square tote bag and charms, the texture of the overall styling instantly leveled up. In fact, when working on a cosplay photoshoot like this, I consider both costume accuracy and wearing comfort simultaneously, because the character's most natural state must shine through in the frame.

The photographer Lin Zai was amazing at catching light and shadow this time; the afternoon natural light was incredibly translucent, and the long shadows on the ground added a layer of storytelling and atmosphere to the frames instead. In terms of composition, we didn't deliberately force any high-difficulty poses, but simply captured candid snaps of looking back and turning sideways while walking. This full-body shot perfectly gathered all the character's Campus style outfit details into the lens—the wrinkles of the white shirt, the lines of the skirt hem, the graffiti on the single boot, and that black bag all combined flawlessly. I hope this lazy campus vibe and the character's sense of temperament can be transmitted to everyone through the lens.

As for a little interlude during the shoot, walking under the sun with this short hair inevitably drew a few extra glances from passing classmates. Although I had to maintain a "somewhat cool" expression on my face, internally I truly enjoyed this feeling of freely navigating beneath the sunlight. We walked back and forth around campus corners and the edges of the lawn for nearly the whole afternoon. Lin Zai was exceptional at capturing the moments I turned around, completely avoiding any forced generation of fierce glares, but rather letting this cos image merge into the authentic campus environment as much as possible. I feel that cosplay is not merely about putting on these garments, but about feeling and releasing the rhythm and attitude tied to the character. In this Zenless Zone Zero Ellen Joe cosplay photoshoot, I immersed myself as much as possible into the state she might be in after school—carrying a school bag, carrying a sense of looseness, walking down this path.
