[Runami Yachiyo cosplay] Cosmic Princess Kaguya!: A Japanese style cosplay Promise Under Cherry blossom photography

Today I'm sharing this Runami Yachiyo cosplay from Cosmic Princess Kaguya!. When I first got this costume, what struck me most was its bold color palette. The deep navy base tone is accented with vibrant blue square patterns, while the wide red sleeves and purple inner camisole create an intense visual clash, complemented by black-and-white zigzag folds along the skirt hem. To faithfully recreate the character, I wore waist-length silver-white hair, fixing her signature white circular ring hairpieces on both sides of the head with a wooden hairpin at the back. For makeup, the focus was highlighting pale blue contact lenses and soft pink blush, with finely detailed eye makeup to capture a gaze that felt aloof yet laced with innocent vulnerability in this Japanese style cosplay.

The shooting set was staged as a classic traditional Japanese room with tatami mats, shoji sliding screens, and wooden cabinets. Copious faux pink cherry blossoms hung suspended overhead, which, paired with illuminated wooden floor lanterns on both flanks, provided warm ambient lighting that formed a splendid contrast against the cool silver-white hair and deep blue garments during this Cherry blossom photography session. I brought two main props this time: a semi-translucent pink paper parasol and an eccentric bright pink plush doll.

During the shoot, I explored a variety of postures. Sitting on the tatami cradling the plush doll aimed mainly to portray a quiet, demure state, while nicely highlighting the combination of light blue Stockings and golden footwear. When standing up with the parasol, I shifted my center of gravity to let the long robe hem drape naturally while ensuring the lines of the legs were revealed. The sleeves of the outfit are remarkably voluminous—their fabric texture looked captivating in motion, so using a sleeve to veil half my face or sweeping them wide offered fantastic shooting inspiration. The geta clogs squeaked against the tatami; keeping my balance while sustaining an elegant posture required constant core engagement, which was quite physically demanding. The cherry blossom branches hung somewhat low, demanding careful head positioning so the hair accessories wouldn't get tangled in the twigs.

Overall, the degree of completion for this photo set was very high, with the garment details seamlessly blending into the atmospheric set. Post-processing also strived to preserve the authentic fabric texture and natural chiaroscuro without excessive skin smoothing. Cosplaying a beloved character and realizing the visions in one's mind step by step is an intrinsically fulfilling journey. Every shutter click represents a brand-new understanding of the character. From makeup tests to the final cuts, immense energy was invested into every stage, and both styling and ambiance met expectations. I hope the final presentation allows everyone to feel the charm of this character!
