Choosing an open-air parking lot as the shooting location in February, the actual light intensity completely exceeded expectations. Although the weather forecast indicated a low-temperature winter day, the perceived temperature that day was so hot that it made one want to take off the wool vest. This contrast brought a unique atmosphere to the photos. This outfit features a light pinkish-gold twin-tail wig paired with a gray-white cat ear headband, combined with a classic JK white shirt, a beige vest, and a crimson bow tie, making the overall color tone very clear and translucent. During the shoot, we mainly integrated the natural light on-site. The sunlight hitting the hair strands and fabrics made the texture look very full and rich.
For the equipment, a Sony A7M5 was used, paired throughout with two lenses: the 85mm F2 GM and the 28-70mm F2 GM. In an environment like a parking lot where the space is relatively open and the background lines are cluttered, the bokeh effect brought by the large aperture beautifully stripped away the messy elements, allowing the visual focus to concentrate entirely on the expressions of the Anime girl. Especially when shooting the composition of sitting in a shopping cart, whether it was a full view or a half-body close-up, the camera's eye autofocus tracking was extremely reliable, keeping the skin tone fair and radiant even under strong light.
In post-processing, I tried bringing in a slightly low-saturation cool tone to fit the "azure winter" setting. However, the scorching sunlight of the day and the orange traffic cones seen everywhere on the street reminded one of another layer of seasonal temperature within the frame. Intersplicing the electric guitar into the shoot was to add a bit of an after-school wandering storyline. Rather than deliberate posing, I leaned towards capturing a relaxed feel of looking down to tune strings or casually leaning over. When the wind picked up, the messy hair strands actually gave it a more authentic sense of wind movement. The switching between different focal lengths combined with the use of environmental props allowed this outdoor shoot to integrate a youthful vibe into these daily outdoor elements without deliberately creating a magnificent scene, presenting a beautiful piece of Japanese style photography.
