This time, it's an Anime-style photo set of the character Laffey II from Azur Lane. The overall style leans towards a lazy, casual cozy home style, fitting the character's daily state of being "unmotivated" yet carrying a bit of soft cuteness. To recreate this look, some preparation was done beforehand on the wig styling and costume tailoring. The white wig needed to be teased for volume without looking frizzy, and it also took quite a bit of time to fix the large blue bows on both sides and the small hair accessories on top. The blue-and-white color blocking on the outfit along with the long ribbons demands good material and tailoring, otherwise it can easily look bulky, but this specific cut is actually very comfortable to wear. The shooting location was set in a room with tatami mats. The wooden bookshelf, retro telephone, calendar, the large plaid rabbit plushie behind me, and the teddy bear on the side all formed an excellent home backdrop, perfectly suited for showcasing the character's everyday life. Regarding composition and poses, to match the keyword "lazy," I didn't adopt many rigid, standing poses. For instance, in the shot where I am sitting on a small wooden stool, the wide sailor collar cuffs are intentionally pulled out on both sides, which, combined with the stretched-out posture, showcases the structural details of the costume beautifully. Meanwhile, the pose of lying flat on the floor naturally displays the pink cat paw prints on the white tights, which is a highly recognizable feature of Laffey's appearance. As for expressions, I didn't deliberately cater to the camera, mostly maintaining a spaced-out, relaxed state, or looking off to one side to capture casual expressions. This kind of "casualness" is actually much more suited to the soul of this character than forced posing. Regarding the lighting texture, I communicated multiple times with the photographer Pulao411. Since the character's costume is dominated by large areas of white and light blue, the lighting needed to be very soft. If the light is too harsh, the white base easily overexposes and loses detail, whereas if the light is too dim, it makes the clothes look dirty and old. With the combination of studio and environmental light, the final skin tone texture appears quite translucent, while the highlights on the hair and the subtle glint in the eyes are preserved, making the overall color enduring and refreshing. This shoot was actually a mutual-benefit collaboration with the photographer based on the "Anime Vision Plan." Compared to those hardcore combat outfits, this casual home style allowed for a much more relaxed atmosphere during the session. No fancy special effects were added during post-processing, as we tried our best to maintain the clean tones of the original photos, which makes it more comfortable to look at. Having the opportunity to interpret Laffey II in this photo set and getting a satisfying final result can be considered a proper milestone for my portrayal of this character.
