[Lucy cosplay] Cyberpunk: Edgerunners - Neon Light and Shadow

The styling and photoshoot this time were mainly focused on recreating Lucy from Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The material chosen for the outfit centered on patent leather: a black high-cut Patent leather bodysuit paired with white pants, topped off with an off-the-shoulder white cropped jacket. This high-contrast black-and-white look creates a striking visual impact under cool-toned lighting. The trickiest part of dealing with patent leather is reflection—you constantly have to avoid harsh specular glare, or the photos look unflattering. Putting on and taking off this outfit takes quite a bit of effort, and the high-cut design really tests body proportions, but visually it elongates the legs significantly. The over-the-knee boots worn on the legs are matte leather, providing a distinct textural contrast against the shiny patent leather bodysuit. The waist belt and silver drape design added great structural detail.

For makeup, to achieve the character's icy, glamorous aura, I went heavy on the eye makeup: red eyeshadow smudged at the outer corners, elongated winged eyeliner, and ultra-light blue colored contacts to give the gaze a razor-sharp edge. I layered several pairs of false eyelashes since cameras tend to wash out makeup, requiring some exaggeration to read clearly. The silver-white gradient wig fades to pink at the tips, featuring a small neon yellow-green streak on the side, faithfully capturing one of her defining visual traits from the show. To prevent the wig from making my head look too wide, I spent quite a while adjusting the wig cap and padding—making it a proud Silver hair cosplay look.

The prop was a simple white stick picked up on a whim. I felt it could add a touch of street-smart, rebellious flair, and it turned out to look very natural whether held in hand or gripped between the teeth. The setting was right in front of my computer desk; the blue glow from the RGB PC case behind me served perfectly as the primary cool light source, while the monitor wallpaper displayed a cyberpunk cityscape, instantly setting the moody Cyberpunk style atmosphere.

In total, three photos were taken. The first was a full-body mirror selfie to showcase the overall look and costume details. Wearing a high-cut patent leather bodysuit means finding just the right angle to avoid unflattering lines; fortunately, the final angle turned out balanced. The cool light made the skin look fair and clean, directly highlighting body contours through the high-cut silhouette. The remaining two shots were close-ups and profile angles highlighting facial features and makeup nuance, with the stick-biting pose meant to convey a slightly languid, detached coolness.

Capturing the atmosphere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners comes down to conveying high-tech and cyber aesthetics. Colors shouldn't lean too warm, so post-processing focused on dimming ambient light to emphasize cool blue tones. There's always room to optimize makeup and fabric combinations—for instance, patent leather attracts dust easily and needed wiping down with alcohol prior to shooting. In terms of final presentation, the lighting and angle setups went smoothly without uncontrollable glare. Overall, the contrast between the blue background and the subject's lighting brought out her cool detachment and futuristic presence, fully embodying Lucy's persona through light and wardrobe.
