The focus of this outdoor shoot was to present Nazrin's forest exploration persona from the Touhou Project. For the makeup and styling, the silver-gray curly hair was paired with a black lace bow and fluffy animal ears, aiming to faithfully recreate her energetic and lively character design. The costume features complex layering; the combination of a light blue lace shawl, a puffy white shirt, and a multi-layered black ruffled skirt provides a great sense of volume under natural outdoor light. As for the gear, a uniquely styled black treasure-hunting rod was specially prepared. Together with the vintage lantern and woven basket, this combination of props brought a more tangible treasure hunting adventure atmosphere to the entire photo set. Although walking through the forest required constant attention to manage the skirt, the overall completeness of the look met expectations. The photographer utilized the soft, diffused natural light of the forest along with the warm light source inside the lantern, adding a warm visual focus to the image amidst the serene environment. Switching between different scenes like stream-side rocks and forest paths, I tried my best to convey this little mouse's energetic yet slightly clever nature through my body language. The Touhou Project series offers immense space for secondary creations. How to preserve the original charm while integrating into the real-world environment was the primary consideration for this shoot. There were indeed many mosquitoes during the shoot, but creating in such a natural and pristine environment yields an image quality that cannot be replaced by a studio shoot. Sunlight filtered through the gaps in the leaves onto the skirt, and the lantern's glow formed a warm-and-cool contrast with the surrounding dark green vegetation, all perfectly fitting the theme of adventure and treasure hunting. The costume was actually quite heavy to wear, especially with the tail and the long rod prop. Balancing fluid, expressive poses with maintaining a stable shot was a real test of physical endurance. However, seeing the presentation of light, shadow, and details in the final photos makes the entire preparation and on-site effort feel completely worthwhile. Constantly adjusting my stance and the angle of the lantern to capture the character's most natural state in this jungle environment ultimately resulted in these moments that fit the imagination of Touhou fan works.
