This time, I specially chose the cherry blossom blooming season to shoot Yae Miko's Qipao look. It just so happened to be her birthday, so I wanted to use this self-styled white modified Qipao to present a different side of Lady Miko. The lace ruffles on the skirt hem and the frog button details took a long time to make, and the wig was also trimmed into layers. The pink hair accessories and the flower branches on the round fan were all hand-embellished, striving to recreate that elegant yet slightly lazy temperament as much as possible. The cherry blossom outdoor scene was chosen under a large canopy of overlapping pink and red blooming trees, where the light dapples filtering through the petals were incredibly soft, giving the frame a built-in soft-light filter.
During the shoot, the side-glance angle perfectly showcased the tailoring and waistline of the Qipao. Holding the round fan with the pink tassels falling naturally, the overall color tone was very unified. Actually, Yae Miko's design in Genshin Impact inherently blends many Japanese elements, and with the Qipao being a Chinese classic, this attempt to clash the two styles together turned out to be unexpectedly harmonious. To match this styling, the makeup was also adjusted, with the outer corners of the eyes slightly turned upward, and a lighter peach lip color chosen so as not to steal the visual focus from the outfit. During the shoot, I even ran into a child passing through the park who pointed at me and said, "Look, a fox big sister!" It was incredibly cute.
Regarding the fabric choice for this costume, I used a white jacquard fabric with subtle patterns, adding lightweight organza to the cuffs and shoulders, making it breathable and ethereal. In terms of accessories, besides the preserved flowers on the side of my hair, I also paired it with pearl earrings to make the whole look more exquisite. Being able to deliver a satisfying shoot as a birthday illustration on her actual birthday truly gave a wonderful sense of ritual, and I'm also thankful to the photographer's patient snapshots, preserving the dynamic movement of the falling petals. Regarding the details of the cosplay styling, from accessories to hair, every step strove to align with the character's temperament while incorporating my own aesthetic understanding. I hope those of you who like this version can feel the care I put into it.
