The focus of shooting this Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Lucy cosplay look was recreating the unique coolness and mechanical feel of that futuristic world. The location was set in a venue full of industrial atmosphere, scattered with black cables and metal panels. To complement the cool tones, bright red contact lenses were specially chosen for the makeup to brighten the face. The silver-white wig features pink, purple, and yellow gradient tips; while this color combination is extremely photogenic under cool light, styling it took considerable effort—it needed layered trimming and constant fluffing during the shoot to keep it from looking flat against the scalp.
Regarding the costume, the glossy black patent leather top provides a powerful reflective sheen, and the red geometric lines on the chest are a classic cyberpunk element, while the white detached sleeves add dimension to the overall Cyberpunk outfit. The lower half features light purple Leggings; the cutout thigh design, paired with black tactical straps and accessory pouches, gives the character a strong combat-ready edge. The black high-heeled High boots on my feet are the highlight of the entire ensemble, with their red lines echoing the top perfectly and detailed anti-slip treads on the soles. Despite the high heels, putting them on instantly maxes out the aura. During the shoot, I deliberately designed several reclining and side-leaning poses to best showcase the boots and smooth leg lines.
Interacting with the cables in the environment throughout the shoot was a fun experience. To create the atmosphere of taking a brief respite in an abandoned factory, I tried a half-reclined posture on a mat, clasping the boots in front of my knees with both hands and staring straight into the lens, showing a tired yet vigilant state. In other photos, I held a pen to mimic recording or thinking on a datapad, casting an unfocused gaze as if pondering the next route. These emotional expressions are far more vivid than simple staged poses.
For cosplayers, glossy materials are very prone to overexposure when shooting, so the lighting specifically used rim and side-back lighting to outline the body's contours, avoiding flat frontal light that causes texture loss. The wig's gradient was also demanding on detail, requiring specific styling wax to piece out strands, and even indoors, careful attention was needed to maintain its direction. The overall visual focal point actually lies in the leg lines and eye expressions; the light purple Leggings and black High boots form a sharp contrast that sculpts the silhouette nicely.
The overall color palette of this makeup and styling is very cohesive: black, white, and purple accented with red pupils and red piping, delivering high visual impact. Repeatedly refining poses before the shoot and understanding the costume fabrics allowed this set to achieve a great final result. I hope this photo set fully conveys Lucy's unique character.
