[Marisa Kirisame Cosplay] The Black and White Magician's Fountain and Sunshine Outdoor Shoot Record

This Fantasy style outdoor photography session had been planned for over half a month, and I've finally completed the shoot for this Marisa Kirisame cosplay look as The Black and White Magician.

When choosing the costume, what I valued most was this ultimate black-and-white contrast and the intricate layers of lace. The entire outfit is not merely a piling up of fabrics on the surface, but pays extreme attention to details. For example, for the wide ruffled magician hat, we added multi-layered tulle and stiff mesh during production to maintain its shape; otherwise, it would completely collapse when blown by the wind during outdoor shoots. The cane is custom-made, and the black bow and wire wrapping on it were all aligned with the original setting, taking several tying methods to finally finalize it.

Regarding the wig, the long golden braid is the character's iconic feature. To achieve a natural drape, the gravity distribution of the wig strands was adjusted. During makeup, I intentionally kept the base clean and translucent, focusing the eye makeup on the tightline and elongating the outer corners. Paired with a slightly lazy gaze, this beautifully echoes that state of appearing casual yet filled with immense magical power.

I selected several highly fitting locations for this set of photos. I particularly love the ones by the fountain; the impact of the sculptures and water flow forms a highly interesting contrast of motion and stillness against the quiet magician character. Additionally, when shooting under the lattice gazebo, the afternoon sunshine cast through the grilles onto the creases of the clothing. With the aperture opened up, the background's blue window panes paired with the black-and-white dominated costume design give a sensation of crossing dimensions. As for the group standing on the lawn, I intentionally experimented with more lively dynamic postures; the actions of raising a single leg and waving the cane give the entire frame more vitality, preventing it from looking dull due to the large areas of black.

Special thanks to the photographer ChaCha TEA7125 for this shoot; during the park stroll, she sharply captured many fleeting highlight moments, such as the exact moments when a gust of wind lifted the hat brim and the lace fluttered. This kind of pure natural light outdoor shoot is actually the hardest for managing reflector angles, but the photographer's control over light and shadow is highly mature. The resulting photos have highly comfortable color saturation without over-smoothing the skin, preserving the original material texture of the clothing.

Regarding the understanding of the character Marisa Kirisame, I feel she is not just a magician in a book, but represents an attitude of pursuing the ultimate and pure. Wearing a very heavy and exhausting costume, donning a heavy hat, and shooting all day under the sun actually consumes immense physical strength. However, being able to materialize a character I love in reality and leave behind such a high-quality set of photos brings a sense of satisfaction that is truly irreplaceable through standard Cosplay photography.
