[Yaoyao Cosplay] Sharing Convention Photos of Genshin Impact's Little Finch of Liyue - Image 1

Finishing Yaoyao's costume organization was already past midnight, and today I finally had the chance to take this set of photos in a white indoor studio. As a deeply beloved Liyue character in Genshin Impact, I put a lot of heart into this Yaoyao cosplay.

Yaoyao's costume is rich in detail. The vibrant green vest uses high-texture fabric that doesn't wrinkle easily, while the white collar stitching and ruffled cuffs perfectly recreate her pastoral charm. The dark brown faux-leather corset around the waist, specifically the golden crisscross lacing on the front, was where I spent the most effort, striving to match the original art in every detail. The golden bell hair ornaments on both sides required multiple weight adjustments to dangle right beside the ears without feeling heavy.

The two yellow animal plushies—one big and one small—by my side served as the soul props of this shoot. Nestling them near my feet and sides balanced the visual focus while pulling the overall state closer to character lore. The rattan-woven backpack behind me was also carefully chosen by the prop team to complement the color scheme.

The lighting on the day of the shoot was super soft. I chose to sit on a white plush circular mat with my legs naturally curled up. This sitting posture paired with a forward-reaching gesture aimed to convey a playful, sharing nature. The photographer knew exactly how to capture these relaxed moments, and the subtle reflection off the floor made the whole frame look clear and clean without distracting shadows.

Cosplay to me isn't just about putting on a wig and clothes. The most fascinating part is analyzing a character's personality and finding where I overlap with her signature poses and expressions.

To chase higher fidelity, I simplified the makeup to prevent heavy contouring from ruining her youthful feel. Intertwined pink and orange eyeshadow paired with a custom soft-pink wig shade aimed to convey a warm, adorable vibe. I love this clean Convention photo style—no complex post-processing effects required; good coordination between model and photographer is enough to capture the raw, authentic side of the character.

I felt in great shape today. Although the weather was humid and the outfit's breathability caused some discomfort, seeing the shots in the viewfinder made all the fatigue vanish. During the shoot, I tried various angles and interactions, and this yellow bunny plush felt like my little buddy, helping me stay natural and lively in front of the lens. From fabric selection and prop crafting to adjusting poses and facial expressions, every step reflects my understanding of this Liyue character. I hope these clean, bright photos showcase my deep love and sincerity for Genshin Impact's Yaoyao.
