To faithfully recreate Yidhari's character design, a lot of effort went into hair and makeup this time. The wig was chosen as a layered short blonde style, with bangs trimmed into a blunt, angled curve; combined with that signature crescent moon hair accessory, the overall silhouette was firmly established. For eye makeup, the eyeshadow was deliberately deepened and paired with grey-blue colored contact lenses; to accentuate that alluring Succubus-like charm, subtle fine glitter was added under the eyes. The beauty mark at the corner of the mouth is truly the crowning touch of the entire makeup, which, combined with facial contouring, creates an intense atmosphere when the camera zooms in.
Costume-wise, the cutout design of this sleeveless white top really tests undergarments and body fit. To prevent the garment from looking loose, seamless adhesive cups were worn inside, and the edges were secured firmly. The collar around the neck was custom-made, featuring purple spiral patterns and a blue mechanical eye in the center—the moment I put it on, the character's exact vibe clicked. For the lower half, the asymmetrical pairing of black shorts with Fishnet stockings and an over-the-knee sock was the highlight of this look. The straps and metal buckles took a long time to adjust, ensuring they wouldn't dig into the skin when sitting down while keeping the leg lines sleek and smooth.
For this shoot, a very special set was constructed using giant purple inflatable tentacle props. Sitting on top of them required substantial core strength to maintain balance while keeping the upper body stretched and poised. Holding the long staff prop also required deliberate care; the wrong angle would obscure costume details or make the arms appear stiff.
Regarding lighting, to complement the solid purple backdrop, a softbox was used for the key light, with a touch of cool fill light added to the side. This made the skin look more translucent without disrupting the crisp black-and-white contrast of the costume. My biggest takeaway from shooting this set is that body language conveys character aura far more effectively than facial expressions alone. When adjusting sitting postures and gaze directions, I tried to keep my shoulders relaxed and subtly tilt my chin upward, leveraging a low-angle gaze to amplify my presence.
Stylings with gothic and sci-fi elements demand extreme fidelity to details. Every time I finish a shoot and organize the photos, seeing the metallic luster of the hardware and the texture of the Fishnet stockings captured in the frame makes all the meticulous prep feel completely worthwhile. My character interpretation and pose designs had already been visualized during fitting sessions; the actual shoot was simply bringing those concepts to life in this Zenless Zone Zero fan creations project. I hope these photos allow everyone to feel the character's unique allure.
Honestly, before shooting, I felt some pressure about nailing the overall vibe because the character's costume structure is quite intricate, featuring numerous metal buckles and asymmetrical accents. To ensure clean visuals, the prop crew meticulously cleaned the tentacle props beforehand to guarantee uniform light reflection. On the shoot day, electronic background music was played on set, helping me immerse much faster into that aggressively alluring mindset.
In terms of pose adjustments, because the outfit has numerous cutouts and straps, slightly broader motions easily risked exposure or looked cramped. Therefore, I had to continuously recalibrate my center of gravity—such as subtly lifting the weight-bearing leg and utilizing black objects in the foreground to enrich compositional layers. The black apparatus with lettering in the foreground was actually part of the prop set; blurring it out of focus through shallow depth of field added an industrial sci-fi feel to the whole frame.
When capturing close-ups, the light position was lowered slightly to cast subtle shadows across the collarbones and neck, enhancing the three-dimensionality of the choker and metallic buckles. Makeup was fine-tuned under the lens with extra setting spray to prevent fading during extended shooting. The pairing of Fishnet stockings and an over-the-knee sock was carefully planned to visually elongate proportions; the striking black-and-white contrast alongside natural skin texture beautifully balanced the intricate cutout design of the upper body.
The expressive core of this entire photoshoot centered on the interaction between body language and props. The grip strength on the long staff and the distribution of weight while seated on the inflatable tentacles all served to make the imagery feel effortless and natural. Through this shoot, I explored a style distinct from my past work, paying greater attention to overall cohesion in fine details. Every metallic gleam and every strand of hair was styled to honor the character's traits in this Yidhari cosplay and Zenless Zone Zero fan creations feature. I hope everyone browsing these photos can experience this visual harmony where raw power and seductive grace coexist.
