Weaving through the CICF Expo halls today, I wonder if anyone spotted me in the crowd! Because the chosen outfit had a lighter overall color palette, it stood out quite nicely across the venue. I dragged myself out of bed past 5 a.m. to do my makeup, using a long-lasting liquid foundation locked in with three solid layers of setting spray just to brave the muggy exhibition hall. The core of this styling was the silvery-white long straight hair; to add a playful touch, I styled an ahoge cowlick on top and tied long pink ribbons on both sides. For eye makeup, I selected red contacts paired with a broad wash of pink blush to foster an innocent vibe. I adore the White hair and red eyes combination—it has such an authentic anime feel.
For the outfit, I wore a pink polka dot skirt dress as the base, featuring white lace edging around the neckline and a thin red ribbon tied at the chest as a visual anchor. Over it, I threw on a short-sleeved white lace cardigan, which added layered depth and softened the lines of my arms. Around my neck, I casually knotted a matching pink polka dot scarf to keep the neckline from looking plain. The standout accessory was the thick black-framed sunglasses perched on my head, instantly pivoting the sweet aesthetic toward a balanced Sweet and cool style. I initially hesitated over the sunglasses, but they turned out to be an amazing interactive prop that looks fantastic on camera.
Many photographers stopped me for snaps inside the halls. The lighting conditions today were great, with natural light drifting in from outside looking crystal-clear on the skin. Whenever shooting, simply holding the sunglasses and slightly tweaking my angle created shots overflowing with atmosphere. Plenty of passersby and fellow cosplayers came over to take shared photos; everyone was super friendly, even helping adjust each other's skirts and hair. Since the wig is extra long, it frequently drifted forward, making wig-grooming a routine part of today's Event photo sharing experience. To prevent tangling and frizz, I kept wig conditioner and a wide-tooth comb handy, smoothing out the strands between takes to maintain volume. Much of the joy in cosplay lies not just in the final pictures, but in connecting with fellow enthusiasts.
With the warm weather, touch-ups were essential. Armed with pressed powder and lipstick, I slipped into the restroom every hour or two to ensure zero shine in front of the lens. Individual cluster lashes kept things lightweight even over extended wear. On my feet were chunky white Mary Jane platform shoes; while walking in them wore me down a bit, they complemented the aesthetic seamlessly. When the afternoon light shifted, we moved outside to an open space to shoot a set under natural sunlight. Because it was breezy outdoors and the wig tended to get mussed, I had packed a mini hairspray for quick fixes, and even helped touch up a few girls nearby sporting the same hair color.
Moving through the halls, I was constantly stopped with requests for photos. I was always glad to pause and pose—after all, coming to a comic con is all about having fun. Lots of photographers brought heavy gear, complete with reflectors and fill lights, making the raw photos look stunning right out of the camera. The warmth from everyone at the CICF Expo was palpable from the moment I walked in. Despite pacing the halls all day and having sore feet, seeing the finished shots in the camera made every bit of effort worth it. This was such a fulfilling CICF experience filled with lovely creators and fans. I look forward to bringing more diverse looks next time and meeting everyone at future conventions!
