This time, I traveled to the shores of Xiamen to capture the Jeanne d'Arc swimsuit look from Fate/Grand Order.

For the wardrobe, I picked a sheer light-blue sun-protection jacket layered over a black bikini. This combination offered sun protection outdoors while billowing effortlessly in the sea breeze with airy grace. To add more detail, a white garter was styled around the thigh, visually elongating the leg line. The wig featured a classic golden short base with a thick, long braided ponytail attached at the back, finished with a black headband and tied with black hair elastics. The coastal wind was quite strong and easily tangled the hair, so the stylist used plenty of setting products and brushed through it constantly between takes.

For props, I prepared a transparent swim ring decorated with colorful flower patterns and a striped mint-green and white tote bag. In the frame, these two items not only gave my hands natural placement but also made the shoot feel like an authentic vacation diary rather than a stiff pose.

We timed the session for the golden hour just before sunset. To showcase the glittering ocean surface as a backdrop, the photographer utilized backlighting. Because the face tends to fall into shadow when shooting against the light, we placed a reflector in front, preserving the golden rim light on my silhouette while keeping facial features bright and clear. The first photo captured the moment I stood in the ocean reaching a hand out toward the lens; the waves surged in right then, splashing cool water against my legs as the photographer captured this immersive, interactive frame. The lower split shots recorded looking back along the embankment and strolling along the sandy beach.

Shooting Seaside cosplay outdoors is a major endurance test for makeup longevity. Ocean water and sweat quickly wear down base makeup, so heavy-duty waterproof foundation and setting spray were used, alongside waterproof and smudge-proof eye products. Stepping across the boundary between rocks and sand required extra caution, as flip-flops can easily slip on wet stones.

While taking these photos, I truly felt immersed in the coastal scenery. The changing intensity of each breaking wave and the shifting wind gave the shots an organic dynamism. I hope this summer-infused set brings everyone a breath of cool sea breeze.
