[Feixiao cosplay] Foxian General's Outdoor Selfie, Almost Crushed by the Wig and Ears

This Feixiao cosplay costume took quite a while to break in after I got it, especially those two huge rabbit-ear style ears on top of the head. At the very beginning when I put it on, the center of gravity was unstable, and the top-heavy feeling was very obvious. I practiced expression management in front of the mirror for half a day before I could barely hold up this Foxian general's sense of playfulness and oppression. After all, the setting is that kind of ease and free-spirited temperament, so although I claimed I didn't take many photos, I still picked this one with a slight smirk when selecting the pictures.

Let me talk about the details of the whole look. The wig is short, silver-white, and fragmented hair, which is somewhat difficult to style, as it easily looks frizzy or clumped. I specially made fine adjustments to the arc of the bangs in front of the forehead so that it could fit the face shape perfectly without blocking the vision. The rabbit ears on top are the highlight, with a soft fur texture, and that faint cyan-green gradient at the edges is truly vivid under outdoor natural light, making the whole look not so monotonous. Although the golden diamond-shaped patch between the brows is small, its brightening effect is excellent. Combined with the blue-green colored contact lenses, the gaze instantly gains that exotic character trait.

In terms of the attire, the jacket features a white base with golden geometric patterns, and the neckline is a deep peacock blue patchwork. The silver hollowed flower pendant hanging on the chest and that light blue gem are the visual center of the entire outfit, with excellent details. The golden metal accessories next to it hang turquoise-textured beads and red tassels, which shake slightly when moving, adding some dynamic beauty. The red and black patchwork gloves are also a finishing touch; the red part easily catches the visual focus during selfies, making hand movements appear more expressive and giving a stronger sense of power that the character should have when posing.

For this shoot, we didn't deliberately look for a studio, but shot right on an outdoor shaded pathway. The sunlight was exceptionally good back then, spilling down through the adjacent red-leaf trees, casting a warm halo on the cheeks and clothes. The fallen leaves on the ground and the gray stone slab road—these natural elements actually fit the character's temperament better than a simple black or white background. The benefit of outdoor photography is that the light in the eyes will be more natural instead of looking stiff. Although the post description jokingly said it was a casual photo with only one edited picture, in reality, to match the frame's softness, some fine adjustments were made to the highlights and shadows to keep the texture of the entire photo looking uniform and authentic.

The makeup was done relatively transparently without using overly heavy foundation, focusing entirely on the eyebrows and eyes. The orange-red eyeshadow transitions to the outer corners of the eyes, adding a bit of the character's sharpness. Paired with a lighter brow color, it breaks the heaviness of traditional ancient-style makeup and increases the lightness unique to Anime cosplay. When taking photos, I specially chose a slightly low-angle perspective so that the large ears and the silver pendant on the chest could be collected into the lens simultaneously without making the frame look crowded.

Actually, every time I present a character with relatively complex gear, the biggest fear is not wearing it perfectly, resulting in looking like a rack hung full of props in the photos. But this costume actually fits the body shape very well in its tailoring, and the stand-up collar design of the outerwear can beautifully modify the neckline without too much restriction in action. When taking photos, there is no need to deliberately force a pose; a simple tilt of the head or a shift in the gaze can capture a relatively natural moment. I hope this set of slightly casual selfies can showcase that informal, handsome feel inherent to this character.
