Just took a quick shot at the venue of the Chinese anime & manga exhibition, and I'm very satisfied with this result among my convention photos. For this Susu cosplay, the color scheme of the wig and ears looks very soft under the light, and I specially chose a warmer yellow tone to match the character's temperament. For the makeup, I focused on the shape of the eyes and the transition of the eyeshadow; the green colored contact lenses make the gaze more agile, and the lip color uses a low-saturation rose-bean paste shade, aiming for that lightweight yet slightly playful feeling overall. The collar and cuffs of the outfit feature multi-layered fabric overlapping; the splicing of pink and light purple puts the tailoring to the test, and the stitching of the inner lining was also specially adjusted so it wouldn't look bloated when worn. The lighting at the venue was quite complex, but the skin tone captured turned out clean enough without excessive smoothing. This Japanese-style outfit took about two weeks from the makeup test to completion, with most of the time spent on adjusting the layers of the wig and the fixing method of the ears; an invisible support was added inside to keep the ears from collapsing. The convention was crowded, but my state in this particular shot is quite relaxed. The pose with my hand on top of my head was actually to block the shadow caused by the overhead light, but unexpectedly, the effect turned out quite natural. Every time I do these Chinese anime character cosplays, I try my best to restore the details, from the direction of the hair strands to the texture of the fabric, hoping to bring out the character's innocence. Next time, I'll try changing the angle to take full-body self-shot cosplay photos, which should better display the tailoring of the skirt hem.
