After shooting this set of photos, my favorite is actually still the first one. Everyone in the comment section often says "Figure 1 is the true form," and indeed, the state is most relaxed when holding two cups of drinks to sip. At that time, we happened to pass by a corridor, warm yellow indoor lights cast down, and the ambient feeling captured at the split second I lifted the cups was exceptionally good. The character selection this time is Remielle from Zenless Zone Zero. To recreate her slightly mysterious yet cute feel, quite a lot of energy and heart were invested into everything from hair and makeup to shooting.
Let's talk in detail about this character's outfit details. The main body of this costume is a black waist-cinching corset, with the zipper design at the waist and front beautifully showing off the silhouette. The cutout at the chest and the translucent black mesh at the shoulders add a trace of looming mystery. The neckline is paired with a crisp white bow tie, with that silver star-shaped badge right in the middle serving as the visual focal point. The wide bell sleeve covers made of black velvet on the arms are pieced with silver buckles, and the long, thin red ribbons draping from the cuffs swayed with the wind during shooting, yielding an excellent sense of line. The lower half is a fluffy black starry miniskirt, connected to garter straps and translucent black thigh-high stockings with bow decorations, plus that pair of glossy thick-soled Mary Jane high heels on the feet. The entire look balances Gothic style and anime aesthetics just right, creating a fantastic Dark style outfit.
I have to mention the black feathered wings behind my back. It is made of multiple layers of feathers pieced together, with a huge volume, and carrying it out for a shoot is actually quite a piece of heavy physical work. However, when it extends behind me as a background, it drastically enhances the character's "non-human" divine/mystical traits, instantly enriching the storytelling of the entire photo. The red and black bow hair accessories and star hairpins on the head, combined with the specially customized pink-orange short hair and sharp elf ears, allow the overall look to withstand close inspection under magnification.
To match this character's undertone, we intentionally picked several shooting locations with strong contrast. In Figure 3, sitting on a high stool in front of a vintage red door utilizing the daytime natural light beautifully captured her quiet and slightly lazy side. Meanwhile, the motorcycle night view shoot was exceptionally stylized; the mechanical feel of the heavy Ducati motorcycle paired with the dreamlike light and shadow of the "HOLLYWOOD" neon sign let the warm and cool color tones interweave in front of the lens, perfectly interpreting a street urban legend under the cover of night.
But in the end, why do I prefer Figure 1 so much? Because in many cases, roleplaying isn't just about restoring a character's combat or cool-and-aloof side; catching her life-oriented, casual side can instead touch people's hearts more. That inadvertent moment of biting a straw with a spaced-out gaze appears exceptionally vivid and authentic. This cute yet unpretentious contrast was something I particularly wanted to convey in this Zenless Zone Zero Remielle cosplay adventure. There are still many areas that can be optimized for this final set, but every time I portray a different character, it's an attempt to feel the world through a brand-new perspective. I hope everyone likes this presentation of dark Gothic style in this realm of Anime cosplay photography.
